You can consult the latest travel advice from the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office. We recommend all travelers to check their Government National Travel Advisory prior to their departure: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, USA

Travel Insurance

You need to have valid and adequate travel insurance before your tour with Travel Talk begins. It is your responsibility to have your insurance ready, but we are more than happy to provide you with guidance in the process. You can visit our travel insurance page for more details. For now, here is some Japan travel advice that you need to keep in mind when choosing the right plan.

  • To prevent any unwanted surprises, make sure your plan covers emergency medical situations, cancellations, and threats against your personal belongings.
  • Based on your tour, there may be adventure activities that your travel insurance does not include. So, look carefully at what your policy covers.
  • Make sure you have the latest information regarding safety and health issues. You can find useful Japan travel advice on governmental websites.
When to Go
  • High Season

The best time to visit Japan is from June to August when you can make the best of the country with pleasant weather and long days. Temperatures vary in the high twenties, rising above 30°C in August. The wet season mostly comes to an end in mid-July, but we recommend packing for occasional rains if you are traveling to Japan in summer. This is when the countryside livens up and the iconic parks in the cities offer blissful strolls. You will find a wide range of spectacular festivals and events in major cities like Kyoto.

As it is the peak season for Japan tours, prepare to encounter flocks of travelers in the iconic shrines and castles across the countryside. It is the best time to experience the chaotic spirit of Japanese cities as they turn into a carnival of sights and smells

  • Shoulder Season

Spring and fall are the best seasons in the Land of the Rising Sun to witness the wonders of its incredible nature. In April, the fragrant Sakura trees paint the country in powdery pink, creating postcard views. Locals celebrate this awakening all across the cities and the countryside with memorable festivities. Some of the best places to visit in Japan in spring are Takayama and Mt. Fuji. The weather is mildly warm and dry until mid-May.

Fall is equally wonderful in terms of epic sceneries and comfortable weather. Keep in mind that the rains last throughout September. But, the skies become crystal clear in October, and the countryside hosts bright colors of orange and yellow as the woodlands transition.
