After breakfast, we depart for Kalambaka, the gateway to Meteora. Meteora is famous for its breath-taking scenery and ageless monasteries, almost suspended between the earth and sky. The town hosts one of the largest and steepest complexes of Eastern Orthodox monasteries, literally named as “middle of the sky”. The World Heritage-listed site is out-of-this-world with its unique landscape of immense monolithic pillars and huge rounded boulders hosting monasteries on top, and one of the most visited locations in Greece. Each monastery has a central courtyard surrounded by chapels and living cells of monks, who have inhabited the region since the 11th century – for far less than the first inhabitants from 50,000 years ago. Later in the afternoon, hop on the bus for Delphi.

We (a family of five) had an amazing time in this wonderful tour. Our tour director Kostas was an outstanding top notch guide with so much knowledges and dedication to accommodating each one of us all ages and from all over the world. He knew all the hot spots and secrets place to take the amazing photos, and all the restaurants with great quality and reasonable prices.
We would highly recommend this tour if you want to see the island and all over Greece! From the ferries to the hotels and buses, it fits the budgets. Here is the details to each place we truly felt:
Athens: would recommend get there one or two days early to adjust the jet lags if you come from US. It’s so hot in June and very hard for me to visit acropolis the next day. Drink a lot of water the day before and sunscreens is a must to have on the first day.
Mykonos: Such a gem and cute place to visit, please keep a close distance with your tour director because the little Venice was built all the buildings are so close and the road are very narrow to confuse the pirates who tried to loot the town. There are good restaurant close by our hotel but you have to walk on the left side of narrow roads. The island had a very nice and easy bus system (cash only). Its very easy to get around the whole island.
Santorini: Our tour director Kostas knew all the good and secrets places to take the perfect pictures when you are in Oia. There is a hike my son did with a group of tour mates from fira to Oia about 6.5 miles or 10 km in 3 hours. You have to hike early to beat the heat but the sceneries are so beautiful and worth it! The island of Ios is so much fun, there are lot of water activities for all ages.
Meteora: You will hike about 300 plus stairs to see the monasteries, if the ladies does not have the proper clothing the gate entrance will provide a rob to cover at no charge. My teenage daughter thought the robs are hideous for their perfect pictures. You will also see the mountain Olympus in distance and the battle field where king leonides fought and died.
Delphi: You will have 3500 steps in 2 hours and 24 floors incline to visit the sanctuary of Apollo. The Greeks consider Delphi is the center of the earth.
The water is cheap in Greece, you have to hydrate everyday and sunblock is a saver. All the restaurants we visited were very reasonable and good quality. They are pretty good at it to split the bill when you had group dinner. We never had problems on any of the ferries we took, they all had AC and good accommodations on board. You might encounter some nude beach in Mykonos, but thats their home and cultures. If you have children under 18 just notify the stuff when you booking the trip. They are pretty good at to put the family together. Overall the price we paid was worth every single penny. We would book anther tour with travel talk again in the near future!
